Cool photography app

Jul 01
2011

I recently came across Microsoft’s PhotoSynth for the iPhone/iPad. This app “assembles” live photographs into a mosaic or collage of photos.

Here is a before and after shot of the auditorium at the Bank of America headquarters in Charlotte, NC.

Before my class started:

and during the class:

I’ve also used the tool to turn otherwise dull photos of properties into something that interests the viewer – like this one:

an App for IRR’s and CCIM’s

and really, anyone involved in comercial real estate.

MyAnalyst is a must have tool for every commercial Realtor. CCIM’s and investors will appreciate the mortgage calculator, the t-bar with IRR and NPV calculations as well as the investment and lease/own analysis tools, appraisers will love the ability to measure a property from aerial photos and owners will appreciate the environmental risk summary reports.

You can download the app here, or visit blyn.cc web page here.

I personally love having a quick and dirty analysis tool that is like a swiss army knife on my iPhone/Ipad.

* Note, the author of this blog is good friends with the authors of app and sits as an unpaid advisory board member to their corporation.

Chomp – a new way to find apps

Jun 20
2011

With hundreds of thousands of available apps in the iTunes store, it is becoming harder and harder to find the app that best suits your current needs.

Enter Chomp, an app that uses a ” proprietary algorithm learns the functions and topics of apps, so you can search based on what apps do, not just what they’re called.”

Chomp is free on the web and in the iTunes Store and works both on the iPhone/iPad and Andriod platforms.

Rock Melt – a new social networking browser?

Apr 21
2011

A new browser, or actually, to be technically correct, a new browser interface built on top of Google’s Chrome Browser, has entered the market.

RockMelt offers social networking and feed options along the margins of your browser. Now Facebook and your internet surfing can co-exist in the same window frame.

I have to admit the interface is very compelling and easy to use.

Available as a browser on the PC, MAC and an App for iPhone and the Ipad .

my first iPhone app help client’s calculate their property taxes

Feb 21
2011

Very excited – as of 5 minutes ago, our iPhone app to help client’s calculate their property taxes for commercial properties in Bernalillo County went “live” in the iTunes store! It is only 99 cents, and if you provide us feedback to improve version 2 and leave feedback, I’ll gladly send you a buck!

If you own a commercial property in Bernalillo County and you would like to compare your property’s value against the resolved cases from 2010, click here – http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/taxessor/id419811562?mt=8 to try it out.

The App is only $.99 and if you leave us a review and email me feedback at tclarke@nmapartment.com so we can improve version 2, I’ll gladly refund you a buck.

Thanks to Mark and Jamii at SWCP for making this happen.

Support for the app can be found here – http://www.taxessor.com .

iPhone 4.0 – well worth it!

Sep 09
2010

Apple’s 4th generation phone has a bevy of new features that make it well worth the upgrade. The new iPhone offers A higher resolution screen, faster processor, more memory, longer battery and a front facing camera along with a slimmer body style. Although the phone received a lot of publicity about its unconventional antennae design

my usage of the new phone demonstrated better phone coverage and call clarity than its predecessor the iPhone 3Gs.

The iPhone 4 also offers a front facing camera that allows video calls or “face time”. Currently this feature is only active over Wi-Fi.

Although the speed is welcome, it’s the high resolution screen that makes the upgrade worthwhile.

The new iPhone also brought a new iPhone operating system with it, IOS4. IOS4 offers the ability to organize your applications, or “Apps” into folders, as well as the ability to multitask your apps.

The iPhone 4 comes in 16 and 32 gigabyte models with prices starting at $199 for new AT&T users or existing users who renew their contracts.
